For the last year all Asphalte casual shirts have the same cut. It took a lot of tinkering but we got there in the end with your input. Now, no matter the style, the fit’s always the same so you know exactly what you’re going to get. Picking your size doesn’t get any easier.
Linen, head and shoulders above
This season, we're bidding farewell to seersucker and going strictly linen. Loved for its lightweight feel, elegance, and breathability, linen adds character to your outfits without the sweat, as it can wick away close to half its weight in moisture without going soggy.
New Story
Our Summer Shirt features 100% natural linen carefully sourced and crafted. Since our previous partners at Emanuel Lang sadly closed shop, we've sourced our linen in France, had it spun in Tunisia and finished the garment with our trusted Portuguese partners TMG.
Lightweight Fabric
The skilled folks at TMG meticulously crafted a 165g/m2 canvas for our Summer Shirt. It's sturdy enough, yet perfectly breezy, and not the least bit see-through. This light, compact weave ensures a graceful drape and minimises any creasing.
It's in the Pocket
On the left chest you'll find a sturdy patch pocket reinforced with secure stitches. Whether you're stashing sunglasses, car keys or an ancient talisman, this pocket won't let you down.
Your type of Collar
The collar of the Summer Shirt is a crowd favourite, and for good reason. Just the right height, neither too open nor too closed, buttoned at the tip, it's a classic button-down done right. A design that exudes harmony, clean lines, and perfect balance.
Placket with a US Accent
Staying true to the casual vibe, we've opted for an American placket. This relaxed design detail consists of a distinctive vertical strip of fabric with open eyelets for the buttons. How very New England.
Natural Right Down to the Buttons
From the linen fabric to the buttons, the Summer Shirt embraces natural materials. We've chosen corozo buttons, also known as "vegetable ivory". It’s made from the fruit of Tagua Palm in Ecuador. They can’t be farmed so using them supports rainforest conservation, and local economies that collect them by hand. A great choice all round.
