Longtime happiness for your legs assured with these Classic Shorts: A smart length for breezy summer days in evergreen colours.
Hot summer + long days = short pants.
It's a simple equation really. When the days get to unbearable degrees, it's time to whip out them shorts, provided you don’t get short-changed with a pair of
Cut too short or too long
The colours faded too fast
They were too fitted
No half-cut trousers
Not falling short
It's not like we get surprised by summer every year. So we don't need any surprises with our summer wardrobe either. And a 3/1 twill just like for our Light Chinos and weighing in at 260gr/m2, you can be sure of knowing that your shorts will deliver the same quality year after year.
Eat my shorts
Too short shorts that's a no-no. Minimum coverage should be assured, we want to keep a little something to the imagination. Cut too long though and you’re left with an awkward length no one really knows how to style. The Classic Shorts end just above the knee and can be rolled up for individual adjustment.
To dye for
These aren't one-season shorts, these are classic season-after-season shorts. To make sure of it, we let the Italian experts dye it respecting the most stringent environmental regulations. Dyed in rolls means no fading colours.
A tight rope
If that's your thing, then go for the tight shorts, we don't judge. But if you want a breezy pair of thigh coolers then tight isn't what you're looking for. It's definitely not what we looked for either, so here are a pair of relaxed classics not too wide, not too tight, just perfect shorts.
in for the long run
Shorts are just as important as long pants and jeans and they deserve the same amount of work and love for detail. We put a lot of effort into making these a model that can accompany you for a long time, versatile enough for every occasion and practical enough for any situation.
Wearing shorts usually also means no jacket, but then where do you keep your stuff? We got you. The rear pockets come with pointed and buttoned flaps to keep your wallet, phone and keys safe. If that's not your style then leave them open and fold the flaps inside.
Not short-changed on pockets
Pocket bags are a must, either for keeping your keys at hand or casually hang in your sunglasses. These are secured so that they don't pop out whenever you are searching for something. For extra strength we added extra bartacks to the pockets and the belt loops.
Small but mighty details
Shortened pants: Yes. Shortened attention to detail: No. A YKK zip on the fly and a horn button secure the front view, while metal buttons keep the rear pockets safe.
Your summer your style
Seriously, these could also be called Versatile Shorts. Because from pairing them with a simple white tee and plimsoles to styling them with a crisp Button-Down Oxford, suit jacket and moccasins, they make any outfit work. Wear them and pair them for office hours, city strolls, summer weddings, you name it.
The Short bet
Puts the S into GOTS
We got that nice cotton from a GOTS-certified grower in India. GOTS stands for ‘Global Organic Textile Standard’, and also guarantees that all workers operate in a safe environment, free from discrimination and child labour. Also, no nasty products were used in its treatment, making it safer for both the workers and the environment.
Sustainability should go all the way, so we're proud to be working with TBM in Italy, which have been weaving, dyeing and finishing fabrics for over 200 years. By using 70% green energy and purifying their waste-water before it goes back into the environment, they are at the forefront of the industry.
65 years of experience in making clothes should be enough to convince anyone of Expotime's savoir-faire. Our Portuguese friends just know what they're doing, so we let them keep doing it again and again, finest legwear.

Four of us started Asphalte back in 2016. With a few years of experience in fashion under our belts, we wanted to make clothes, but not just any old clothes. Well-made clothes, designed to last, using great materials and made in good conditions. The guys we wanted to kit were our mates, who liked clothes but who weren't willing to go all out on a pair of jeans. We send them a survey to find out what they expected from a brand. Their answers were so enlightening that we opened the questionnaires up to everyone. Best decision we ever made.
Since then, you've been at the start of every clothes we make. We ask for your opinion on a product before we get busy with the design process, and that's the way forward for us.
We're not here to reinvent the wheel. We're here to make your wardrobe classics with the best materials and the best manufacturers. Above all, we're here to make things simple, stuff that you'll still be able to wear in ten years' time.
Over the last 4 years, we've gradually put together the dream team to make it happen on a larger scale. Today, there are 40 of us working to make your favourite clothes, in a quality that was once reserved for a handful of men.
